How do you feel about Charlie's attitude about Bella's change and his whole character in Breaking Dawn?
If I remember correctly, Charlie always wanted answers from Bella when it came to how she felt. However, in Breaking Dawn he did not want to know anything regarding the change that Bella had gone through. He knew that something was different about her and that he was told that she was different but not to ask questions about it but still. I don't think it was right for them to keep him in the dark. He couldn't even know that Reneesme was his grandaughter. I think he probably would have been upset but he would have gotten over it cause he loved Bella. What do you guys think?

Well he figured out that Renesme was his grandchild anyways from her eyes...and I really think that it made since, considering he would rather have some part of Bella in his life than none at all because he didnt get to see her grow up much at all...and that was the condition, to ask no questions...and to top it all off they were trying to protect him because just like Bella had to change because she knew too much, Bella didnt want to put her father through the same fate. Because even though she didnt mind changing, at least she got to spend the rest of eternity with her soulmate...

I was surprised with the way he took the news. I was expecting a different reaction from him. But he just went along with the don't ask routine. I wanted him to be the strong protective character that he was portrayed to be in the first books.

I think Charlie was better of not knowing what happened. If he did, then he'd have to be turned like Bella did, remember all those vampire laws and the Volturi? I think he was content to know so little because he wanted to be part of Bella's. He rather not know about her new life than not have her in his life.

I see both sides and I agree that he would have rather stayed in her life than not have her at all but I was still disappointed that he wasn't the strong, protective figure that we knew from the other books as luvie said.

I think it was probably difficult for him to not ask questions, so maybe that's a consolation. Maybe he was just using his strength and protectiveness in a different way. *shrug* Or maybe he really just didn't want to know what had been going on behind his back.
