Warning! Spoilers!!Am I the only one who was unsatisfied with the ending of Breaking Dawn? I mean, we are all hyped home for an epic battle and then nilch! Everyone goes home, like it was just a routine get together. I mean, come on! A little action would have been nice. Don't get me wrong, they were good reads, but the ending needed a bit more substance. Am I the only who has this opinion?

I was not satisfied with the ending either. Here you have the 3 books before that were really good and kept you wanting more. Then you know that Breaking Dawn is the last book and you are expecting it to be great. When I finished the book I felt like there were pages missing in the end. I think that the ending could have been so much more. But in general the books are a very good read.

I was also disappointed with the ending. I thought there was going to be more to the battle. I felt the ending was rushed. But I guess we have to deal with it since thats it but like Ivy said, all 4 books were great!

Books were sweet reads. I agree, the endings were a bit rush. I think by the time the epic batter rolled around, she was drained. But, I did read somewhere that she wanted to end things with a non-violent approach to show that violence isn't necessary or something along the lines of that.

I wasn't happy with the ending at all. I kind of consider Breaking Dawn to be an extremly long epilouge to the series. It just has such a diffrent feel to it.

I agree. Breaking Dawn makes me question her inspiration for writing it. It was almost as if she was pressured/wanted more money so she spat out piece of work!

I think it would have been a good book if she was planning on making another book. For instance, if this was the set up for a fifth book, where there would have been an epic battle.

Maybe, just maybe she may return to the Twilight Universe and actually finish the series. And not just drive into a wall like she did. :/

The conference that Ivy, Wildita and I went to had a panel discussion on books with bad endings and surprise surprise, Breaking Dawn was one of them. They had brought up an interesting point that I didn't think of earlier. They said that Meyer was not used to ending the books. This was her first real ending to her first series. So for most authors its hard for them to end a series like that. They also mentioned that she was under a lot of pressure to end it due to all the build up that the book was getting. So maybe it wasn't that she rushed it or just wanted it to end. It could be that she just didn't know how to end it.

I can understand that. If only she'd finish Midnight Sun, then we wouldn't focus on Break Dawn's ending. We can only hope.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah....... Breaking Dawn was a huge tease. You get this hype of there being a honeymoon, a baby, a change, a power, an epic battle, and then? ? -makes blowing up noise- It's like getting adrenaline before the big race and then losing it and then you're left with nothing but unanswered questions......

She put in quite a few spoilers throughout the whole book that the ending was going to be peaceful (such as the whole Merchant of Venice thing, which I didn't get 'cause I've never read Merchant of Venice). I found it refreshing that it didn't have a ton of blood and gore at the end, though I, too, was a bit let down. There were a lot of characters I disliked that I wanted to die, and that was my last chance. Unfortunately, the ending did not squelch my "I want more" mentality, and I'm still hoping she finishes Midnight Sun.
