Started GIRL IN THE ARENA tonight, and finished it. What a story! I spent quite a lot of time crying as I read this story. It just has the capibility of touching me, ya know what I mean?
But if they EVER invent "The Living Machine" I WILL NOT GET ONE! I hope they NEVER invent it.
Has anyone else read it yet? It's book #2 in our 2010 BRT Challenge. If you have, did you like it? How did you feel about it? I'll be making more comments through out the week. So tell me, WHAT DID YOU THINK?

so...has anyone else finished it yet?
*taps foot, looking at everyone in the reading lounge*
*heaves a large sigh*
Well I guess I'll just go get some more tea, and read it again. Maybe I missed something.
*walkes off to get tea, book held protectively under arm*

What is throwing you guys off? What don't you like? is it the story, or the writers style?

Hng
I think you just nailed it. I don't like the style that's it written in. I like the story itself, just having a hard time with it.

I started to get into it after Tommy died. It was just quite boring in the beginning. And I don't like the writing style at all. But I do like this book a lot. I have 2 chapters to go so I'll post my final thoughts on the whole book but I do like Uber. Even though he killed her 7th dad, I still think he's sweet!

Okay so I just finished it...I really liked it once I got past Tommy's death. Although the format wasn't what I'm used to it, I don't think it hurt the book at all. The plot was good, I was just sad to see it end without knowing whether there will be a happy ending or a sad one! I love Uber. He is so sweet. I understand why she refused to marry him but at least he wasn't a total jerk. This book kept leaving me in shock between Allison's death, finding out where Tommy's body was, the charity night with Uber's parents and to Lyn stabbing Thad. Poor Thad. And Mark. What a friend he is. He really backed her up. And even though he had feelings for her he was able to put that aside when it came to Uber. I really liked this book. I'm glad this was in the challenge.

Vilmarys I felt the same way about Uber. I was a little upset that we didn't know if it was going to be a HEA or not too, but Lise said she might write a sequel. I think that would be great. I did like how it ened with a possibility. Lyn admits she likes him, and she is willing to go to dinner with him, and Uber and Thad get along so well and she TRUSTS Uber with Thad, and Mark might have a girl friend. I like that although there are loose ends, there is still that possibility. if there is a sequel I'd definitely pick it up.

I started reading this book and couldn't get into it.Maybe because I started late at night or because I'm in the middle of another book and I hate reading more that one at a time,I don't know. Maybe I'll break for today and start again tomorrow.

Well, I think it was the over all books style of writting and to me it felt like it jumped from one point to the next. I liked the whole idea and some of the storyline with the GSA it just felt a little rushed, I guess. idk
