Hi,
I would like to know if any of you would be interested in the "BRT Borrow A Book Program" lol. This program would be started in the US only at first. (Sorry to all my buddies in a different country ) I am working on one for other countries but that will take a little time.
This is how it would work... I have a few books that I am willing to let people borrow. I would start a post with the name of the book and if you are interested you would reply to post stating so. The book would go around to each member in the order they posted.
Does it sound good so far?
Here's the catch... I would ship off the book to the first person on the list. Once that person receives the book they have 1 week to read it. When that person is done reading the book they pay the shipping and send it to the next person in line. You have to commit to doing so before you sign up.
How much is shipping? Here is what I got from www.usps.com/prices/media-mail-prices.htm I have never paid more than 2.77 to ship a book in the US. (I usually pay $2.38... $2.77 is for bigger heavier books)
Weight Not Over (Pounds) Price
1 $2.38
2 $2.77
3 $3.16
4 $3.55
5 $3.94
Why pay to borrow a book when I can go go to my local library
and borrow it at no charge? There are many libraries that don't always carry all the books we want. My local library always has a waiting list for most of the books I am interested in. This also works well for people who do not have a library near by...
All addresses have would have to be sent to me by PM. Only the person shipping to you would have your shipping address.
If you guys have any questions, ideas or concerns please let me know. This is something new that I would like to do. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Ivy ;D
