Blood and Chocolate was the book that got me into all of the vampires, werewolves, and fae books. This is an incredible read with an ending you won't see coming.
Side note: The movie was almost completely different from the book. If you have seen the movie without reading the book, I urged you to read the book. If you have seen the movie and read the book, please give me your thoughts on which storyline line you enjoyed more.

I agree that the movie and the book were totally different. I think that would be because they were both trying to portray different ideas. While the books purpose was to say you can't change your family and you can't avoid your heritage, the movie went for the more traditional "you make who you are" approach, emphasizing the main character's ability to make her own decisions for her life. I enjoyed both, though I have to honestly say that I preferred the movie more, purely because I agreed with the concept it was showing more than I agreed with the book's. However, I think I liked the originality of the book more, as it didn't stick to the now stereotypical storyline of the werewolf staying with the human.
Annette Curtis Klause also wrote another book I enjoyed, title The Silver Kiss. This was also very well done, and remains one of my favorites. Has anyone read it?

This is one of those guilty pleasures from my teenage years! :X So, being nostalgic, I got the movie--and HATED it. They got the entire IDEA wrong. Ugh! The idea is that pack/family are important, even to a teenager who wants to be different. Not: the pack and family are EVIL, run AWAY and DENY WHAT YOU ARE.

To be fair, logically, the pack really was evil in the movie.

Right, but it shouldn't have been that way--because in the end the pack is good, there were just elements that were bad. I don't know, I think the movie--in trying to make their own Romeo and Juliet--forgot to read the entire ending of the book.
