She's a new author with FALLEN coming out, it's YA about - you guessed it! - fallen angels. It's not her debut book but I believe it's her second yet it's gotten way more attention than the other one. Check out fallenbooks.com for more info and if you want to, here's my review: suchalush.blogspot.com/2009/10/review-fallen-by-lauren-kate.html Share your thoughts! Have you heard of Fallen yet? (comes out in December, by the way) Are you looking forward to reading it?

So, I'm assuming this is where we are going to be talking about the book Fallen. Which I did pick up and read again, and once again couldn't put it down. I absolutly love this story. has anyone else finished it? What do you think of it? Does anyone else wonder How exactally Trevor caught fire. Was it the watcher spirits that did it, or something in her? How about how she died in the begining. How did she die? Did she catch fire like Trevor, or did the watchers just alert the higher ups and they came and took her life in an instant?

I thought this book was good.I'm hoping the second book will answer a lot of unanswered questions.I found it very slow at first, but it did pick up,then the end really flew by. I think what bugged me the most in the beginning was Luce always comparing Sword & Cross to her old boarding school..You went to court appointed reform school, not the country club (I don't know if some would consider this a spoiler so I tagged it anyway) The rest I was hoping that when Daniel swooped into the hidden chamber to save Luce from the teacher that it was Penn(her spirit or her as angel) that told Daniel what was happening to Luce and where to find her.And that it was her when Luce asked Daniel who that was and he just said a helper.I loved Penn and was not happy she was killed off.Hopefully we will see her again. As for Cam or Daniel.Neither right now.I knew Cam must be bad,no one's that slick As for Daniel I get why he was trying to push her away, but then he says it never works..so why bother trying really. And I find it weird that some are on the side of good and some on the side of bad, truce or no truce ,I wouldn't be playing Chess with an enemy.Or partying with them. And were those also fallen angels who went to parents day.Arianne's sister, the guy with Cam,the old guy with Gabbe.will they play a part in the next books. We never got a straight answer either on the deaths of Trevor and Todd. The epilogue-wasn't Daniel trying to hide Luce from the evil and yet he meets Cam at the very place where she is..then the handshake, again back to the enemy thing, truce or no truce. All in all I'd say this was a good book, not great, but good. Its definitely a great build up book for what's to come....I hope. I know I will have to go back to Fallen when book 2 comes out,to reference who's who and the names of the groups and shadows.who's working for whom.good or bad. Does anyone know when book 2 will be out?

Book 2 will be out in September of 2010. That's all I know. as far as the Daniel cam thing, I kinda saw it like Professor X and Magneto from X-men. They were good budies, friends, but now they are only seperated by which side they think is right. We don't know what made them fall, only that they are fallen.
as far as Daniel trying to push Luce away, I understand the futaility of it, but he still feels he has to ry, because everytime she dies, he gets more wounded. and he did say that no matter what she finds him, and in the end she dies. so thats my thoughts anyway.

After I got done reading it the first word that poped into my head was tantalizingHopefuly the next book anwers more question, then leaving so much un-answered. Like- (I'm not sure how do the spoiled block thing so I hope it works) What I dont get is why is Luce so important and was she with Cam before too? If the shadows report back to whom and why does it matter if daniel and luce get together? It seem like an endless battle Cam wants Luce dead and Dainel just want to be with her. Cam is bad, Daniel is good and they bounce off of each other over Luce, an endless battle, for what? I cant believe Penn had to die, so sad I liked her.)

Finished Fallen and thought it was ok. Started off really well and then I lost track of what was going on in the middle and found things getting pretty confusing. May re-read it at some point.

Ok I finished Fallen today. I liked it, however it left with me with a few questions. I would have liked to knowen more about Cam. What really happend with Trevor. What Daniel ment "he is sorta between gigs" as to what kind of angel he was. How is fate tied between Luce and Daniel. why do they trust Mr. Cole those are just a few....
Why did Penn have to die, I really liked her and Luce's one friend that was human. I so did not see Miss Sophia being on the bad side, did not see that one coming
I agree with Blinky on this book, good, not great, but good. I will read the second book, just so I can see happends Deana

Okay so just finished the first book of the challenge whoo hoo, lol. I have to say that when I first started reading the book, I got the same impression as when I read Hush, Hush. I was a bit ify. But then the story got going and I found that I liked it. I don't know what happened to Trevor but I have a feeling that little Ms. Luce isn't as innocent as we all think. I think she has a role with the fallen angels. Why she is so important? I have no idea but it has something to do with that. Maybe she has an ability that both sides want or maybe the "love" between her and Daniel is a key to something bigger. What happened to Penn was not right. I really liked her. I hope she comes back in book 2. As for Daniel and Cam and the truce. They are all fallen angels. They fell for a reason and all fell together they just disagree which side they think is right. So I agree hng about the professor x and magneto analogy. I want to know what Torment will bring. All in all the book was good and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

I'm having Internet problems so I am using my phone....(I'm so mad at Verizon!) But I do agree with Vilmarys and most of the other comments posted. This book started out slow for me, but it picked up very nicely. I definitely enjoyed this book and liked it way better than Hush, Hush, I am really looking forward to book 2. As soon as my Internet is back up I will post more on this thread. I want to type so much more, but it's hard to type a lot from my phone.

I found this book slow. It cost me a lot to get into it and finish it. It seems like lately every book has a love triangle, and I'm getting tired of it. The characters were rather plain and I had some problems with the characters descriptions. Even if there were a lot of questions unanswered I don't think I'll pick up the 2nd book.

I liked the book. I live near Savannah, and it is always interesting to read about places that I go. I was driving through Thunderbolt, and thought "Oh Luce's family lived here". I agree that the book was a little slow to start and left a lot of questions. I will read the second book.
