Lynn Kurland writes several historical, time travel, and fantasy romance novels. Personally I adore her 'MacLeod' books but her 'De Piaget' series is great as well. Her 'MacLeod' and 'De Piaget' books can pretty much be started anywhere in the series but to start at the beginning, check out her reading order page ( www.lynnkurland.com/reading.html ). Also, I just started her fantasy novels the 'Nine Kingdoms' series which starts with 'Star of the Morning'. "Darkness covers the north, since the black mage has begun his assault on the kingdom of Neroche. Legend has it that only the two magical swords held by Neroche's king can defeat the mage. Now the fate of the Nine Kingdoms rests in the hands of a woman destined to wield one of those blades...
In this land of dragons and mages, warrior maids and magical swords, nothing is as it seems. And Morgan will find that the magic in her blood brings her troubles she cannot face with a sword—and a love more powerful than she has ever imagined."See more at her website: www.lynnkurland.com/index.htmlSee her AMAZON.com page: www.amazon.com/Lynn-Kurland/e/B000AP5V90/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_pop_1

I've read almost everything of Lynn Kurland. I have to agree with josef13 about her time travel romance novels - they are great (but I prefer "De Piaget" series). Nine Kingdoms is a nice series. I've first read it in anthologies "The Queen in Winter" and "To Weave a Web of Magic", so I've decided to start the trilogy ("Star of the morning", "The Mages Daugther" and "Princess of the Sword"). The first one was the best.

I read her first book in the Nine Kingdoms series and didn't care for it. I do enjoy her romances and her most recent was very good. She'd gotten stale for awhile and this was a return to her better days.
