Well, The Pact I highly recommend, if you're a fan of controversial books. Jodi Picoult also wrote My Sister's Keeper, a movie now. All her books are kind of similar, all having some sort of courtroom thing, usually a lawyer, and she always has some sort of plot twist that throws you for a loop. You start out the book thinking one thing, then you are like, *gasp*, what just happened? But Lolita, well... It was well written. The words were beautiful, but what they were saying... *shudder*. I didn't actually finish it. I stopped a little more than halfway through because it got graphic. I recommend that only for very mature audiences. Not really a book for a teenager (like me).

well think of it as a life long best friend, generally (in fiction) childhood best friends end up dating/falling in love as they get older because they know eachohter so well, been through hard times ect. It's a comfort kind of thing. Oh, that reminds me of The Pact by Jodi Picoult (very good book, of course). Though the whole plot of that book is a little more demented, it's basically the same thing. Two kids grow up with each other, do everything together, basically are the bestest buds in the world, and they end up falling in love. Well, I really didn't have a problem with the imprinting on kids thing myself. Especially when I heard Jacob's description of it (in Eclipse, I think) when he was saying it's like the earth is no longer what's holding you here, they are. And when he was talking about how they'll be whatever their imprintee needs them to be. It all sounds very romantic and whatnot, but it isn't necessarily. I think everyone assuming Renesmee and Jacob are immediately going to get together when they get old enough is kind of jumping the gun. Who's to say Renesmee won't date other people? If she wants to date someone else, Jacob will be the best of friends and support her in that. She's his whole world and no one wants their whole world to be unhappy. She has whatever amount of freedom she wants. Not to mention, I think a lot of people assume Jacob is spending his time thinking about what's going to happen when Renesmee grows up and that's just not true. First of all, if Edward caught even a stray thought like that, Jacob would lose his head. And secondly, Jacob just wants Renesmee to be happy, he wants to be there for her and care for her. And having pedophilic thoughts about her is not really in her best interest. (If you want to see real pedophilic thoughts, try reading Lolita by Vladamir N. That is a true pedopile. ) If any of this seems jumbled, that would be because it's three in the morning as I'm writing this and I should have gone to bed hours ago. ;D I didn't really think Quill's relationship is weird, but Jacob's was. I mean the baby was not even an hour old, and he wants her. Not necessarily in the horny way, but wants her still. He wouldn't even let Bella go near her, and wouldn't trust Edward to make that judgement. I mean, I know that Edward gives Bella EVERYTHING she wants (beautiful wedding, him, sex, baby, clothes, money, car, did i get it all?) but Edward can make pretty good judgement. He's been around for about 5x as long as Jacob has......

The graphic descriptions weren't really the main problem--my friend started insisting I read her favorite trashy romances ages ago--the problem was that the narrator was a pedophile and the graphics involved a young girl (I think she was about 12, but I read it a year ago, so it's been awhile). Pedophilia was not really something I wanted to read about (I picked up the book because I was hearing really good things about the author; I guess he's from Russia, but you wouldn't know it reading his English. I wish I would have picked a different one of his books). It was beautifully written despite, but I decided it was a bad sign I was getting queasy.

Human enough that she smelled pretty good food-wise (maybe not to Bella, but he didn't know that yet). Jacob was doing his best to protect this small, breakable little person from her so-strong-she-doesn't-really-know-how-strong-she-is, hungry mother. Bella agreed with his protectiveness and as soon as he realized Bella would not hurt her child, Jacob handed her over. And I hate to say this, but Edward is an absolute idiot when it comes to Bella. If he's not taking her choices away, he's giving her too many choices. Edward's in no position to judge something where Bella is concerned.

But it's like, Edward......... You'd think he'd be able to make that judgement so that he didn't really choose Bella over Renesmee. I think Stephenie Meyer made it look like Edward thought that Renesmee was a HUGE mistake and he's gonna let Renesmee suffer for it. So, if Bella wasn't able to control herself, what was Edward gonna do when Bella killed her daughter. Bella would be in hysterics, while Edward would be all, Oh it's ok Bella you lasted for about a minute. We can adopt in a few years, it will be fine...... I love you for trying, but now it gives us more time together..... *coughs* Sex!!

Until he knew Bella was going to live, I think he would have been just as happy with Renesmee not existing. But after that, it seemed to me like Bella and Renesmee were in close contention for his #1 girl.
