I was reading through the books to be on the lookout for thread and saw the cover for Fallen by Lauren Kate. Like some other members I think the cover is great. I'm a sucker for a good book cover, if the cover sucks I won't even read the blurb (unless it has a really interesting title). I'm sure that I have over looked some good books, but this is my crazy method. Anyway, I was wondering how everyone else picks there books?

Hmmm, I usually look at the titles first, then if the cover is so bad that the title can't make up for it, I will attempt to read the back but my interest has already gone....
If the cover is great but the title is negliable, then I'll read the back to try to figure out the story behind the cover. Maybe I'll read it if I'm curious enough. Maybe not.
So in a nutshell, it all depends on how curious the book makes me.

I agree with manda and my soul for a cookie. I do not judge a book by it's cover... but the cover is what attracts me to the book. I am also attracted to the tittle of a book. Those two things play a major roll in the books that I read. I also love to read book reviews. They have opened my eyes to great new books. Here is one of the many book blogs that I visit www.book-love-affair.blogspot.com/ great book reviews and interviews.

I am also a sucker for a good book cover and title. If the cover art is good and the title catches my eye then I read the back of the book to see what it's about!

I don't particularly look at the cover. I always check the book how many people wishlist it, then I'll try it!

I'm a cover girl. No, really I am. I'm a complete sucker for a really beautiful cover. ;D Brandon Sanderson. Patricia Briggs. Jim Butcher. C.E. Murphy. Kristen Britain. The 4th original Nancy Drew novel. I could go on, and on. The first thing I see in a book is the cover. The next is the author or title, that's a toss up between the two. The final is the jacket blurb. If the jacket blurb doesn't sell me on the book, the cover still might. Or I'll write the ISBN down and go on Amazon.com to look at the reviews to see if I'll like it anyway. I'm also a sucker for reviews, if the book looks that bad from the customer reviews and I don't like the jacket blurb, I'll probably never read it. However, if you can sucker me in with the cover at the store, I just might buy it anyway. It'll sit on my bookshelf for life. ...But it will still be pretty to look at (there's a joke in there somewhere).
