Well, I've had bad experiences in several fandoms, so I'm a little paranoid about all that now. Ah, really? That makes me upset... I hate when people bash me for my opinion. What happened? What was it about? Twilight was the main one. The fandom gets overzealous sometimes. Mainly my opinion on not liking Edward. Lots of dumb insults were exchanged, and I'm a little less involved in that kind of thing than I used to be. That's why I like how nice everyone is on this site. ;D

Ok, I'm completely new to the "graphic novel" seen. What is the difference between Graphic novels and comic books? I was at a book store the other day looking for the Mercy Thompson Graphic Novel, and noticed there were comic books right next to the graphic novel section. Being the inquisitive person I am I picked up one of each at random and started flipping through them. From what I could tell graphic novels were for adults and comics were for kids. Is there something else that I'm missing? ?? Oh, and I left the store empty handed...they didn't have the Mercy Thompson one.

Graphic novel - adult form of comic, usually bound more substantially (comics can be the stapled papers). Comics - Either aimed at children or unsubstantial staple-binding Manga - Graphic novel made in Japan, can range all ages from kids to very, very adult My personal recommendations:Watchmen (graphic novel) X-Men - (borders between comic/graphic novel) V For Vendetta (graphic novel) Monster (manga) X (manga)
